Case presentation: A 26-year-old female patient was presented with a chief complaint of spontaneous, painful constrictive movements on her right side of the face. She was also feeling constriction in her neck leading to difficulty in breathing. The condition was present from the past two years which had severely affected her overall quality of life. During these episodic contractions her jaws involuntarily closed, and her tongue deviated towards the opposite side, with slurring of speech and tongue bites on several occasions.
Her past dental and personal history was unremarkable except for a history of assault on the same side of the face in the form of domestic violence. Investigation: Her MRI brain scan did not reveal any no focal pathology.
