Sir, A 60-year-old female , non-diabetic , non-hypertensive, treated in the past for Pulmonary tuberculosis came to opd for goitre of 3 months duration. Examination revealed a STN on left lobe, no necknodes. U/S revealed not only clinically detected nodule but also another nodule in the opposite lobe and their impression was MNG. Later patient was subjected to FNAC and the cytopathologist reported as "papillary carcinoma of thyroid". Hence, we subjected the patient to total thyroidectomy.
Post operative period (Day 1,2,3) were uneventful, except for transient hypocalcemia. For this endocrinology consultation was taken and the calcium deficit was corrected.
