Recent studies in phlebology suggest that chronic venous diseases play a role in the development of several degenerative diseases, which mandates the need to treat these diseases in time. Varicose veins are the most common chronic venous disease that frequently recur despite advanced endovenous therapies like laser, radiofrequency, sclerotherapy, glue, or mechanochemical ablation. The conventional surgical intervention can only be considered feasible by adopting minimal possible invasion with better efficacy and cost-effectiveness.

The long-term effectiveness of any of these modalities is yet to be proven; however, unbiased patient selection and decision-making for the relevant treatment modality is important for the best outcomes without compromising patient outcomes.
