Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a serious public health issue with a global prevalence rate of 13.4% and a mortality rate of approximately 1.2 million per year. The progressive renal damage leads to diminished renal function , resulting in complications. Since hypertension is frequently associated with CKD, patients with elevated blood pressure must be screened periodically for CKD. Early identification of CKD is possible , and often, necessary to treat the underlying cause and prevent end-stage renal failure.
