Two Hospitals Suspend Nine Doctors Over Ragging Allegations in Gujarat BJ Medical College, Ahmedabad, and Sir T Government Medical College, Bhavnagar, have suspended nine orthopedic resident doctors following allegations of ragging. At the Bhavnagar medical college, 13 first-year residents filed complaints against six senior residents, alleging mental harassment, intimidation, and abusive treatment over the past four months.
According to the complaints, junior doctors were summoned at odd hours and collectively punished for even minor or unintentional mistakes made by a single resident. Reported punishments included writing the same sentence hundreds or thousands of times, standing outside operation theaters, wards, and departmental premises throughout the night, and uploading photographs to a WhatsApp group at regular intervals to prove compliance.
