India has a high incidence of pre-diabetes with almost 5%–10% cases advancing to diabetes. Glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists have been shown to efficaciously reduce this progression and promote regression to normoglycemia. However, their effectiveness in real-world settings remains to be studied. To overcome this, researchers tested the clinical effectiveness of dulaglutide monotherapy in obese patients with prediabetes, in a first-of-its-kind study.

The study involved a retrospective analysis of 11 adults with obesity and prediabetes, receiving dulaglutide.
