Cervical cancer emerges when healthy cells in the cervix show changes in their DNA leading to vaginal bleeding after intercourse, between periods or after menopause, watery, bloody vaginal discharge that may be heavy and have a foul odour along with pelvic pain or pain during intercourse. The main risk factor for cervical cancer is the Human papillomavirus (HPV) infection.
In addition to this, several other risk factors are smoking, weak immune system, excess use of birth control pills, environmental factors, change in lifestyle, etc.
