In a recently decided case emergency physician, radiologist and hospital are held at fault for negligence and deficiency in services resulting in fine of Rs 25000/. Case:- " A Patient was admitted in emergency of a private hospital with injuries of the right palm by falling on broken glass. X-ray report mentioned no fracture, rest is normal.emergency physician provided treatment seeing this report without having a look on X-ray film. on not having adequate relief treatment was sought from other hospital.
Complaint of negligence was filed against doctors and hospital from where patient took treatment first. Observations:- X-ray film had visible foreign body which was missed by both radiologist and emergency physician causing negligence and deficiency in services.
