In utero Zika virus infection have resulted in many newborns with congenital defects. Limited information is available on health outcomes related to Zika virus (ZIKV) infection acquired during childhood. As a result, many questions regarding congenital ZIKV as maternal transmission, pathogenesis, clinical events, and resulting neurological damage remains unanswered.
