Major reasons why COPD prevails in India include: Risk factors are not being controlled at both individual- and population-level Non-modifiable risk factors such as age and history of respiratory infections lead to increased risks of COPD Biomass smoking, active or passive Other forms of tobacco and nontobacco pollutants worsen the situation.
