Ischaemic mitral regurgitation (MR) increases volume overload to a decompensated left ventricle. Ischemic MR complicates the course of 13–50% of acute myocardial infarction. Furthermore, it results in a poor prognosis in the long-term follow-up and has been identified as an independent predictor of heart failure and reduced long-term survival.
Recent clinical trials demonstrated that the prognosis of patients with ischaemic MR in whom coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) is not indicated must be worse than those who also undergo CABG at the time of the mitral valve surgery. In this regard, Docplexus has organized an interactive Webinar on 29 th December 2021 at 07:00 PM. All the questions will be answered by the expert at the end of the session.
