The year 2020 was badly hit by the pandemic and the country faced varied health and financial crises. During this period, scientists in the medical field developed two indigenous vaccines– Covaxin and Covishield– and a large-scale inoculation programme was initiated from January 16th. The process of the making of the vaccine against the SARS-CoV-2 will be showcased on 26th January at the Republic Day parade at Rajpath, New Delhi.
