Current Status Of Rare Disease Drug And Orphan Drugs

In relation to the Orphan Drug Act of 1983 , more than 600 drugs have been designated as orphan drugs by the FDA, in the past 2 years. During this time, around 40% of the new FDA approvals have been for rare diseases .
