Terminally ill patients often require life support. However, multiple factors come into the scenario including the affordability of the patient relatives and the utility/ effectiveness of the supportive therapy.

Continuing life support often leads to a dilemma in the physicians. Sometimes physicians find that life support may be futile in some patients but continue it on the humanitarian ground or on request by the patient’s kin.
