Autism, or autism spectrum disorder (ASD), refers to a broad range of conditions characterized by challenges with social skills, repetitive behaviors, speech and nonverbal communication. In patients with autism about 40 to 50% develop severe aggressive behavior. Pharmacological treatment is good for this but most patients do not benefit.
In such patients Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) surgery is a good option. This is the case report of one such case.
