Acne vulgaris, a chronic inflammatory disorder of the pilosebaceous unit that affects up to 85% of individuals and often leads to scarring and psychosocial distress, remains an area of substantial unmet therapeutic need. To advance treatment options, a study evaluated the safety and efficacy of three doses of denifanstat (25, 50, 75 mg) versus placebo in 180 participants. The study found that denifanstat was generally well tolerated, with drug-related adverse events occurring in 48.9%, 47.7%, and 62.2% of participants receiving 25, 50, and 75 mg, respectively, compared with 48.9% on placebo, and no serious drug-related events reported.
