Agitated over delay in the release of stipend, about 70-80 students of Punjab Government Dental College and Hospital held a protest at the district administration office as they have not yet received the stipend since last 11 months. Around 150 resident students of Government Dental College at Punjab have been protesting over non-disbursal of stipend. The protesting students alleged that they visited the office of district treasury office, but instead of listening to their issues, the officials started misbehaving that led to a verbal spat between the two groups.

Further, the students stated that they had been given an ‘invoice number’ by the district treasury office after clearing the way for disbursement of their stipend.
