Under the new Essential Basic Plan (EBP) by the DHA, the residents of Dubai can now avail free screening and treatment for hepatitis C virus (HCV) as well as the colorectal, cervical and breast cancer. In cases where a physician detects the above three types of cancer or HCV infection in an EBP policyholder during a routine examination, the patient will be immediately referred to the Cancer Centre of Excellence at the Dubai Hospital. In addition, the patient will be automatically enrolled under the Cancer Patient Support Program.
Furthermore, the DHA’s patient tracking and follow-up centre will be informed of such patients to ensure smooth and streamlined treatment.
