Diabetic dermopathy is a common skin manifestation in people with diabetes mellitus. They are round/oval-shaped lesions with reddish/brown appearance occurring in the shin, due to which they are termed as ‘Shin spots’. More than 50% of people living with diabetes can develop diabetic dermopathy with older individuals having a long-standing history of diabetes being more susceptible to this condition.
