Diabetic Neuropathy is one of the important and difficult to treat sub disease some forty years ago.I still remember ,the painful neuropathy not able to improve and the only treatment at that time was giving Injection containing B1+B6+B12 combination every day or at convenience which was costly for most patients at that time.Some prescriptions may contain antidepressants and diazepam if needed. Still patients would complain.The paraesthesia would improve with the injections.

Then comes the era of membrane stabilisers in the neuropathy regimen.The starting point was adding Phenytoin,carbamazepine initially.Followed by the recent Gabapentin and Pregabalin along with methycobalamin combination drugs are useful to the maximum extent.
