Diabetes is a fastest growing public health concern in India with more than 62 million diabetic individuals currently diagnosed with the disease. Recently, the American Diabetes Association has updated some recommendations on physical activity, psychosocial health, metabolic surgery and hypoglycemia in their latest guidelines. Some highlights from the new evidence-based clinical and research recommendations in the 2017 Standards are described in this article.
