Researchers have developed a programmable digital glasses that help to  improve  the vision in children with a lazy eye over the  traditional treatment using eye patches or drops. In a patient-based  study, this device showed its efficacy in improving vision with monocular visual impairment. Amblyopia is the medical term used when the vision in one of the eyes is reduced because the eye and the brain are not working together properly. The eye itself looks normal, but it is not being used normally because the brain is favoring the other eye.

This condition is also sometimes called the lazy eye. The reason for poor vision might be attributable to the developmental defect of the eye.
