Diltiazem is a nondihydropyridine calcium channel blocker used in the treatment of hypertension, angina pectoris, subendocardial infarction and some types of arrhythmia. in 1989, I have written a letter to Editor in JAPI regarding the use of Diltiazem in the treatment of Parkinson's disease.That was an incidental finding when a patient was prescribed this drug for control of hypertension, noted a remarkable improvement in his Parkinson's symptoms and communicated to me by the patient himself.
