A medical postgraduate diploma qualification from a government medical college is getting far far far experience and exposure for patient care and teaching compared to private medical college and superspeciality institutions where DNB training is providing. So, my opinion is that the postgraduate diploma holder is more than sufficient for undergraduate teaching in medical college. This is especially important when there is a deficiency in teaching staff in many medical colleges.

When we look the teaching post qualification in technical institution like NIT and  engineering colleges where 4 + 2 postgraduate i.e. M.Tech is the qualification required for teaching post, but in medical college post graduate diploma holder is getting training for 5 and a half and year that is 7 and half year training in medical college.
