The pharmaceutical pricing authority slashed the price of drug eluting stent to Rs 29600/ and metallic to Rs 7000/. From14 th February.There is clear cut instructions that trade margin can not exceed 8%. Hospital charged from one patient Rs 60,000/ and for other patient bill was Rs 1.25 lacs. The pharmaceutical pricing authority asked hospital to deposit fine of Rs 1.26 lacs with the office.
What is your opinion ? Whether,hospitals should follow price control strictly? Is there any scope of stent related complications,if so,can a doctor be blamed for this?
