A team of cardiologists in Delhi has successfully performed an emergency catheter-based heart procedure on a premature newborn just 40 minutes after birth, stabilizing a life-threatening congenital heart condition. The infant girl had been diagnosed during a fetal ultrasound at 30 weeks of gestation with severe aortic valve narrowing, weakened heart muscle, and significant fluid buildup around the heart.
