Scientists at Switzerland developed biocompatible micro-robots that can travel through the blood and other body fluids to deliver drug at targeted sites. Science Advances published a study, done at Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (EPFL) and ETH Zurich in Switzerland, where the scientists developed ingestible micro-robots. According to the researchers “ they are made of hydrogel nanocomposites that contain magnetic nanoparticles, allowing them to be controlled via an electromagnetic field”.

The lead scientist, Selman Sakar from EPFL said “Our robots have a special composition and structure that allows them to adapt to the characteristics of the fluid they are moving through. For instance, if they encounter a change in viscosity or osmotic concentration, they modify their shape to maintain their speed and maneuverability without losing control of the direction of motion”.…
