It is well-known that pelvic organ prolapse is one of the common health problems in women and demonstrate a negative influence on the quality of life. However, there is less evidence for the association of mediolateral episiotomy with levator injury and urogynecological complaints. In this regard, a recent study published in the American Journal Of Obstetrics And Gynecology reported that mediolateral episiotomy was not associated with the occurrence of levator injury or urogynecological complaints in women with spontaneous vaginal delivery .
