According to the study in John Hopkins University Maryland, any sudden drop in blood pressure i.e. orthostatic hypotension which gives a person fainting feel, have 54% higher risk of getting dementia. For this study, around 11709 people with average age of 54 years were considered.

It showed that out of 11156 people without orthostatic hypotension, 999 (9%) developed dementia while out of 552 people with orthostatic hypotension, 69 (12.5%) developed dementia. This study was published in the Journal Neurology.
