Institute of Medical Science (IMS) under Banaras Hindu University (BHU) upgraded to get AIIMS like facilities. IMS-BHU will get increased funding and better health care amenities by this upgradation.

It had already signed a MoU with AIIMS, New Delhi for funding and other requirements that will be looked after by Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. However, IMS will still function under BHU.
