Bengaluru based cardiologist Dr. Kiron Varghese has been a saviour for many poor patients suffering from cardiovascular problems. He could be called as their knight in the shining armour offering free angioplasty to poor patients. Dr. Kiron, 59 years of age is destined to serve approximately 30 free angioplasty surgeries till Feb 19.

He conveyed, angioplasty requires costs of around 1-2 lakh in private hospitals and as very few surgeries could be performed via funds, younger patients and wage earners should be favoured. For maximum benefits, one arterial block of each patient would be treated by angioplasty and patients who require immediate surgery will be selected through primary screening.
