To combat the threat of a potential third wave of COVID-19, the Punjab government uses drone-based mapping and powerful geospatial analytics to reach every COVID patient and prevent infections from spreading, particularly in rural areas. This technology is operated at two levels. First, at the macro level, both digital and physical control rooms manage bed availability, oxygen, helplines , and inbuilt analytics to predict future trends.

This further feeds a two-way communication pathway through a WhatsApp chatbot dialogue channel. Additionally, the command center keeps track of the vitals/symptoms of each case by contacting them via WhatsApp chats and linking them with the medical professionals.
