This Guidance document provides evidence-based recommendations and good practice points for clinicians on the use of progestogen-only pills (POPs) by women of reproductive age. The WHO and UK Selected Practice Recommendations for Contraceptive Use: Health professionals should be familiar with the Medical Eligibility Criteria for progestogen-only pills. Blood pressure and an assessment of weight can be documented before starting a progestogen-only pill but this should be seen as part of a more general health check.
