Induction of labor is commonly practiced in obstetrics. Different approaches, including mechanical and pharmacological methods for labor induction, are used in pregnant women. For any approach, the mechanism of induction is cervical ripening using dinoprostone. The acidic pH of the vagina is suggested to influence the release of dinoprostone.
