This article reports the results of the clinical trial which investigated the relationship between aspirin use and clinical outcomes in patients with known coronary artery disease (CAD). The patients received aspirin at baseline concomitant with either rivaroxaban or warfarin. Generally, the ischemic stroke due to arterial fibrillation (AF) has high mortality, and recurs frequently and has poor functional deficits than non-AF associated ischemic stroke.

In this regard, anticoagulation alleviates frequency and severity of the AF-associated ischemic stroke, thereby reducing mortality.
