The treatment of TB has been challenging for many reasons. The emergence of MDRTB is disturbing and the root cause may be due to the random usage of DOTS incomplete treatment and the co-existence of TB and HIV-TB and Diabetes. where the immunity is low in both cases. While monitoring of DOTS has been successful in a large percentage the section that is irregular at use may have been responsible for MDRTB rise. Limited alternatives of ATT drug usage long duration smoking alcohol non-cooperation of patients to use drugs nomads and failure to turn up at the center false entries, all of these are quite possible for the emergence of MDRTB.
Should DOTS also be provided at the GP level at the PHC level also and at all teaching hospitals? This will help the local people for better access. this is my opinion. Give your view.
