Static or dynamic pedobarography is used to assess the plantar pressures in a foot. The new study claims that elevated dynamic plantar pressures significantly increase the risk of foot ulceration in diabetes mellitus patients which is evident by pedobarography. The scientists aimed their study to determine which factors predict plantar pressure increase in a population of diabetic patients who are at high-risk of foot ulceration. Diabetes mellitus patients are very prone to the aggression of foot ulcers if they are developed, as their capacity to heal those ulcers is compromised.
