A large retrospective study (n=1216, mean age 48.5 years) explored outcomes of endometrial biopsies performed without hysteroscopy. Abnormal uterine bleeding (AUB) was the leading indication (50.7%), with endometrial polyps emerging as the most common histologic diagnosis (26.3%). Among premalignant and malignant cases, symptoms such as AUB, postmenopausal bleeding, and increased endometrial thickness were predominant. Notably, 6.3% of postmenopausal patients yielded inadequate biopsy samples , underscoring the limitations of blind D&C, especially in high-risk groups.
