Endoscopic Dacryocystorhinostomy (EN-DCR) is an effective procedure in adult patients with saccal and postsaccal obstructions of the lacrimal pathway. Nasolacrimal duct obstruction is common in over 5% of infants, affecting one or both eyes. About 90% of infants with nasolacrimal duct obstruction recover during the first year of their lives. However, in some cases, the obstruction may persist and manifest as dacryocystitis.

Endoscopic dacryocystorhinostomy (DCR) is the most effective and safest treatment for nasolacrimal duct obstruction, with dacryocystitis as a complication.
