Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leak occurs due to a dural tear or a defect in the bone, allowing the fluid to enter the frontal, ethmoid, or sphenoid sinuses. Common causes of CSF leaks are trauma,  hydrocephalus, complications of endoscopic sinus surgery, neoplastic invasion, or other spontaneous causes. If not treated on time, it may cause meningeal infection. Early diagnosis using MRI or CT scan and surgical repair can help resolve the CSF leak. Endoscopic techniques targeting the repair of skull-base defects have evolved much and are the best choice for treating such CSF leaks.
