Open surgical excision of the os trigonum has been the traditional treatment for posterior ankle impingement syndrome. However, the endoscopic excision has recently become quite popular. This article outlines research findings of a recent study which investigated comparative efficacy of open versus endoscopic excision of os trigonum.
