The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved the use of 5 grass extract (Sweet Vernal, Orchard, Perennial Rye, Timothy, and Kentucky Blue Grass Mixed Pollens Allergen Extract; Stallergenes Greer) for the treatment of grass pollen-induced allergic rhinitis in pediatric patients aged 5–9. Previously, this allergy immunotherapy (AIT) was indicated for patients 10–65 years old.

Specifically, this drug is indicated as immunotherapy for the treatment of grass pollen-induced allergic rhinitis with or without conjunctivitis confirmed by positive skin test or in vitro testing for pollen specific IgE antibodies for any of the 5 grass species contained in this product.
