The USFDA has approved apremilast , an oral drug , to treat plaque psoriasis of any severity level for the first time. Evidence The drug approval followed the ADVANCE Phase 3 clinical trial. Adults with mild to moderate plaque psoriasis were given 30 mg of apremilast twice weekly.
At week 16, five times as many treated adults achieved the primary endpoint i.e. Static Physician's Global Assessment response, compared to the patients who received a placebo (P < .0001).
