Metastatic or locally advanced epithelioid sarcoma is a rare disease with a very high rate of relapse. A significant number of individuals with metastatic or locally advanced epithelioid sarcoma develop toxicity post first treatment and develop a relapse. To address the unmet need of developing an effective therapy for the treatment of the refractory metastatic or locally advanced epithelioid sarcoma, the USFDA has recently approved the first treatment indicated exclusively for the condition. The USFDA has recently approved Tazemetostat , indicated for the treatment of metastatic or locally advanced epithelioid sarcoma, which is not eligible for complete resection .

The drug has been granted accelerated approval and an orphan drug designation . It is indicated for children aged 16 years and older . This is the first treatment indicated for this rare subtype of soft tissue sarcoma.…
