The US FDA has recently given a priority review designation for Dalteparin Sodium injectable for treating potentially life-threatening disease. The first anticoagulant injectable is approved for symptomatic venous thromboembolism (VTE) for pediatric patients with the age of 1 month or older. VTE is a specialized blood clot in the deep veins known as vein thrombosis and a blood clot in the lungs is known as pulmonary embolism.
