Present illness : Focal seizures and progressive right sided-weakness were seen in a 7-year-old-boy. Initially, there was intermittent shaking of his right hand which progressed rapidly to the entire right hand. ECG revealed frequent left-sided discharges, MRI showed no clear atrophy but a lesion in the left motor strip of the head. CSF results were normal. On diagnosis of focal motor seizures the patient was administrated, levetiracetam and glucocorticoids.
After 2 months of onset, twitching of the arm and hand become constant followed by facial twitching. On diagnosis of epilepsia partialis continua, intravenous immunoglobulin was administrated, and the twitching in his face and arm was completely resolved. Three months later the symptoms recurred.
