The end stage kidney disease patients are always at high risk of fractures. Frequent dialysis and osteoporosis are common reasons behind the increased complications in such cases. Both the reasons are age dependent and involved in the enhanced risk of mortality and morbidity. However, for the precise management of such fractures, careful diagnosis of the cause of the fracture is needed. This article discusses the assessment and pharmacological management of fragility fractures in CKD.
The exact diagnosis of the cause of the fracture is quite difficult in the case of CKD patients.
