The WHO recognizes gaming disorder as an addiction to video games. It is now included in the 11th edition of the International Classification of Diseases (ICD-11).

It is currently being assessed for classification in the latest edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5). According to WHO, here are 6 signs of gaming disorder to watch out for: Gaming ends up overtaking other activities of daily life, leading to distress and decreased function Lost control over gaming  Gaming continues despite repercussions  Gaming takes up a large chunk of waking hours  Gaming interferes with sleep, fitness, and nutrition Signs mentioned above persist for at least 12 months Source- WHO
