Diabetes mellitus is a significant risk factor for cardiovascular diseases (CVD), increasing the chance of all-cause and CVD-associated mortality in patients. 1 It is predicted that around 79.4 million people in India will be affected by type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) by 2030 . 2,3 With the rising number of T2DM patients comes an increased risk of associated cardiovascular conditions.
