Β  The European Association for the Study of the Liver (EASL) recently released a set of guidelines and recommendations for managing hepatic encephalopathy (HE). The guidelines summarized the diagnosis, differential diagnosis, and treatment of hepatic encephalopathy by providing evidence-based answers to several important questions. The recommendations were graded as strong or weak based on the level of evidence available.
